Update on BC’s Redesigned Curriculum and FSAs

November 2016
Update on BC’s New Curriculum from Education Minister Mike Bernier

Based on feedback provided by teachers and educators, the redesigned grade 10-12 curriculum will be implemented at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. This extra year will give teachers, principals and trustees more time to work hands-on with the redesigned curriculum – making sure it’s right for students. Additionally there is an update on Foundation Skills Assessment for students going into grades 4 and 7 in the coming year. Parents can read all about these updates in a letter from Minister Bernier.

Minister’s Letter to Parents – Nov. 29

The letter includes important updates on:

  • New curriculum implementation for students going into grades 10-12
  • Foundation Skills Assessment for students going into grades 4 & 7
